Magnetic centrifugal pumps MDE series – plastic

Plastic pumps with magnetic coupling for leak-proof and safe pumping.

The MDE series is a fluoroplastic magnetic drive pump from IWAKI that offers high efficiency and durability for chemical processes.

The magnetic drive process pumps made by IWAKI feature a special design that allows their use also under unfavourable operating conditions. An exactly matched arrangement of the rare earth magnets with high magnetic power in combination with appropriately dimensioned compensating areas clearly reduces tarnishing of the contact surfaces of the impeller unit in the front and the rear pump area. With this, this pump is significantly more wear-resistant and usually, it is almost maintenance-free. Furthermore, this measure prevents damages or unwanted deformation on the wet plastic parts due to high frictional heat.

Due to the robust and low-wear design, the magnet-driven process pumps made by IWAKI can be found in nearly all industrial areas, including demanding applications in the chemical pharmaceutical industry.

Features

Best corrosive resistance

Fluororeins and pure ceramic are used for the wet end parts. These materials enable the secure transfer of strong acids and alkalines as well as nearly all chemical solvents.

Superior durability

The exterior of the pumps is covered with ductile cast iron. Ample pressure resitance has been provided in the rear casing by the adoption of a unique shape that prevents the concentration of stress and a dual structure reinforced with an FRP cover. Additionally the spindle and magnet capsule, which are subject to the repetetive stress of rotational vibrations, are made of fluoresin with special metal inserts.

Back pullout system

The back pullout construction enables the user to check and change of internal parts without loosening the piping. Moreover the simplified construction makes maintenance and inspection easy.

Applications

  • Chemical industry
  • Metallurgy
  • Coke industry
  • Food industry
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Metal plating
  • Energy
  • Seawater pools

Advantages

  • Tightness - the magnetic clutch drive eliminates product leakage through the shaft seal, since the design does not provide for it.
  • Economy - the pump design does not require frequent and expensive repairs to replace seals
  • Japanese quality - pumps are designed and manufactured in Japan

Main materials

  • PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) is a high-performance thermoplastic material that belongs to the fluoropolymer family, similar to PTFE, but can be melted and recycled.
  • GFRPP - glass fiber reinforced polypropylene.
  • CFRETFE (Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) - Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene reinforced with carbon fiber.
  • Aluminiumkeramik - Aluminum oxide is known for its high hardness, wear resistance and excellent electrical insulation properties
  • SiC Silicon Carbide - has high wear resistance and corrosion resistance, which makes this material one of the best materials for use in chemical pumps.
