Efficient and Compact Gas Springs for Various Applications
Just like standard gas springs, custom gas springs are designed to reduce manual effort. They apply a pushing force when the piston rod extends (compression type), or a pulling force when the piston rod retracts (tension type).
Compression gas springs can be used in all applications where the lifting and lowering of masses must be controlled.
They are used in particular to:
- Assist the movement of a load by limiting human or mechanical effort and without external energy input (hood opening)
- To balance the weight of a mass (table top)
- Adjust and maintain a locked position (chair back)
- Push, pull, lower or position a load
Our Bansbach compression gas springs are maintenance-free, self-contained and available from stock. Their integrated grease chamber allows for lower peeling force, reduces friction and ensures a longer service life.

Compression Gas Springs
Available in piston rod/cylinder sizes from 3/8 – 30/70 mm, strokes from 10 mm to 1000 mm, forces from 7 N to 12,000 N, and speeds ranging from fast (without damping) to slow (with strong damping).
Tension Gas Springs
Available in sizes from 6/15 mm to 14/40 mm, strokes from 10 mm to 300 mm to 200 - 1 000 mm, and forces from 30 N to 8,000 N. Options with or without damping – from standard to low progression.
