The foam ring is designed specifically for handling products with uneven or textured surfaces, such as:
- Saw-cut wood, sheet metal, bumpy or recessed surfaces.
- All granular surfaces where vacuum suction cups cannot properly adhere and therefore cannot ensure air tightness.
COVAL offers two types of foam strips: BM series rolls and VSBM series ring version.
The BM-SPTR version is a Nitrile (NBR) beveled foam strip.
Material Specifications:
- Nitrile (NBR - Black): Shows good resistance to oil. Nitrile foam strip can only be glued to nitrile suction cups. It has a closed-cell structure.
- Silicone (SI - White): Has a thermal resistance of 160° C (320°F), does not leave marks on handled products. Should not be used for product handling before painting or varnishing. It has a closed-cell structure.
- Natural Rubber (NR): Resistant to abrasion. It has an open-cell structure. Used in conjunction with a turbine to provide strong suction for gripping very irregular surfaces (washed gravel slabs).
Mounting:
- Nitrile Foam Strip: Mounted using contact adhesive or, depending on the vacuum seal, embedded mounting is done at an appropriate depth of 50-70% of the new gasket height. Applicable to all surfaces, especially steel, aluminum, etc.
- Neoprene adhesive tube (120 ml): Part No. 095.99.006.
- Silicone Foam Strip: Mounted with silicone contact adhesive (reference: LOCTITE 5366).
- Natural Rubber Foam Strip: Embedded mounting is performed.
