Servo Motor Brakes; Matrix, a leader in its solutions, offers a new range of spring-set brakes. The new SMB brakes are now popularly available in standard sizes to meet the demands of the most common servo motor applications. Previously available only as custom-engineered solutions, customers can now easily integrate industry-leading Matrix servo motor brake technologies into their applications faster and more cost-effectively than ever before.

Matrix SMB brakes are designed to provide reliable dynamic torque performance during emergency stops, as well as effective static holding capabilities for load positioning and restraint. Matrix collaborated with engineers at Svendborg Brakes, both leading Altra Industrial Motion companies, to engineer a proprietary material specifically designed to meet the torque, temperature, and energy requirements of servo motor brakes.
