The Twiflex system includes a turning gear, a locking device, and a shaft brake (TLB), along with a power unit (e.g., Hydraulic Power Pack) and a control panel for local operation of the system located close to the device.
The TLB is available as a continuous turning option or as an indexing system that uses a simple hydraulic 'push-pull' arrangement with brakes and a brake disc to inch the propeller shaft for maintenance and correct alignment. For a more cost-effective solution, a simple manual option is also available.
