Collision Damping Shock Absorbers

Single-use, yet highly useful protection: With deceleration elements (or impact dampers), ACE offers engineers a single-use solution as an option for highly efficient facility safety. Every deceleration element, made from specially designed aluminum tubes or steel, absorbs even high inertial forces almost instantly in the event of an impact. When arranged in series or parallel, the deceleration elements can simultaneously absorb even higher energy values.

 

Other advantages of the emergency stop systems, developed in sophisticated test series, include their simple installation, ease of retrofitting in existing facilities, speed of replacement, and less downtime after a collision. The deformation of the crush box also allows for the reconstruction of the incident, which ideally helps prevent the same issue in the future.

 

With these advantages, deceleration elements (or impact dampers) are already protecting many linear axes in robotic applications, as well as the limit positions of machine tools, conveyor systems, and high-bay racking feeders.
