The pipes and profiles of the Lean Production Systems are made of lightweight and corrosion-resistant aluminum. The optimized design of the Profile Tube System D30 offers high load-bearing capacity, while the ability to reuse and extend components ensures exceptional cost efficiency. Additionally, there are profiles for special applications with unique features, such as heavy-duty profiles with increased bending strength, an electrically insulating plastic tube made from 70 percent wood, and a particularly lightweight carbon tube. Alongside standard profiles, colored profiles are also available and can be used to clearly indicate where one area starts and another ends. A common feature of all these profiles is the ease with which they can be processed. The profiles and tubes can be cut on-site without using any special tools. Cutting tolerances and minor angular errors are compensated for by the connectors, eliminating the need for further processing. Thanks to the versatile product connectors, you can expand the structures at any time.

The D30 aluminum profiles and connectors can be assembled directly side-by-side to produce robust shelving and factory equipment. All connections are fixed as soon as they are tightened, yet they can always be modified to accommodate subsequent changes in working processes.

Intralogistics solutions utilize a combination of heavy-duty casters (or wheels), aluminum tube profiles, and die-cast aluminum connectors. This approach ensures that the transport trolleys can withstand the constant stresses of today's operations. The result is high availability and minimal maintenance costs. A simple approach to constructing flow racks and a wide variety of roller conveyors supports straightforward handling applications for standard containers and workpiece carriers. The mechanical automation drivers, which do not require electricity or compressed air, reduce manual effort and make processes more efficient. They can create mechanisms for moving parts, rockets (launching systems), container storage facilities, and for lifting containers and changing their direction of movement, and can be integrated into small spaces.

 

WHAT IS KARAKURI?

Karakuri is an automation mechanism invented in Japan during the $17^{th}$ to $19^{th}$ centuries. Initially, most of the applications developed were for entertainment purposes, such as serving tea.

For decades, Karakuri has been a central element of the lean philosophy, providing simple but intelligent automation of processes based on physical principles—without any drivers, sensors, electricity, or compressed air. The objective is to utilize available resources, such as existing facilities, parts, and components, on one hand, and the creativity of the workforce in the workplace (low-cost automation) on the other.
