Safety coupling design
In extremely demanding situations, our mechanical safety couplings from the RINGFEDER TNT series – formerly known as TSCHAN TNT – ensure maximum safety. These couplings have been specially developed for overload protection in the heavy-duty industry. As soon as a pre-set torque limit is exceeded, the coupling halves – and, consequently, the input and output sides – separate quickly and reliably. These couplings operate according to the proven ball catch principle.
RINGFEDER TNT safety couplings are particularly prevalent in building and construction equipment, such as excavators, crushers, shredders, and grading and tunnel boring machines. They are also used in rolling mills and steel plants, turbines and industrial conveyor systems.
At the heart of these couplings lie the specially developed standardised switching units, up to twelve of which can be placed around the circumference of the coupling. This ensures exceptional flexibility in terms of the release torque as well as the coupling size and design.
Other key features of the series TNT couplings include their ability to compensate effectively for shaft misalignment and their easy installation and handling. With absolutely no backlash, they represent a reliable solution for ensuring safety and performance in demanding industrial applications.
