Backstop with plain bearings and sprags. The torque arm has a slot with a bolt to prevent reverse rotation.
Type RSBW is a sprag type freewheel with plain bearings that is suitable for low rotational speeds. This freewheel delivers a high level of torque in a small installation space.
It comes grease-lubricated and is sealed with O-rings.
This freewheel is supplied ready for installation – either horizontally or vertically. Type RSBW is primarily used as a backstop and is particularly suitable for applications that involve difficult environmental conditions, such as moisture and splash water.
A bolt is usually secured to a fixed part of the machine and protrudes into the slot on the torque arm. This bolt prevents the shaft from moving backwards. The bolt clearance should be around 1 – 3% of the slot width. IMPORTANT: To ensure that the freewheel functions properly, the torque arm and, consequently, the bearings must not be subjected to undue stress of deformation.
