Bearing-supported backstop with torque arm for large shaft diameters.
Type BC MA is a sealed, ready-to-install roller type freewheel supported by bearings that requires oil lubrication.
This type of backstop is mainly used on the drive pulley shaft of large inclined conveyors at mining sites, where the environmental conditions are demanding.
The symmetrical design enables the product to be mounted on the freely rotating shaft in a specific direction of rotation. The torque arm consists of a single “I“ beam section that is attached to the backstop with two precision ground torque arm pins. This facilitates installation on site and allows the torque arm to be mounted at the top, bottom or at any angle to distribute the load evenly across both cover plates.
The preferred installation position is horizontal, as this reduces the bearing load and extends the service life of the bearings. The recommended shaft fit is f6 or f7.
The freewheel components, including the ball bearings, are continuously supplied with oil in a sealed chamber. The sealing arrangement consists of a double-lip oil seal that keeps oil in and dirt out, as well as a regreasable grease chamber and an all-metal labyrinth seal with graphite grease.
