Version without bearings for a wide range of applications. The sprags lift off when the inner race rotates.
The RSCI is a centrifugal lift-off sprag type freewheel with an inner race that moves during rotation. Only this inner race is suitable for the overrunning motion, and the freewheel itself has no bearings.
For correct functionality, bearings must be provided that ensure the concentricity of the races. These bearings must also be able to absorb radial and axial forces simultaneously. In addition, the radial and axial run-out should be within the specified tolerances to ensure reliable performance.
RSCI freewheels are compatible with the standard lubricants used in drive technology and can also be used directly in gearboxes without the need for separate lubrication. In many cases, oil mist lubrication is sufficient. If the freewheel is primarily intended for overrunning, grease lubrication can also be used.
If it is installed as a backstop, it is important to ensure that the overrunning speed does not fall below the minimum idling speed specified in the table. This is to ensure that the freewheel functions reliably.
