Bearing-supported backstop with torque arm and multidisc brake for torque limiting. Optionally with release function.
Type RDBR-E backstops are mainly used on the drive shafts of conveyors, mixing drum drives or chain conveyors when torque limiting, load distribution or a release function is required.
The RDBR-E comprises a roller type freewheel and a bearing-supported multidisc brake for torque limiting. An optional release function is also available for this backstop, allowing a tensioned conveyor belt to be released in a controlled manner. When the brake is open, the backstop can be operated in the opposite direction for an unlimited duration to facilitate maintenance work.
A hydraulic hand pump or hydraulic power pack can be used to release the backstop. A mechanical release device can also be provided on request.
The RDBR-E backstop is sealed and oil lubricated. The sealing arrangement with grease-lubricated labyrinth seal ensures maximum reliability, even under harsh operating conditions.
The recommended shaft fit for mounting is H7/f6. The torque arm must not be subjected to undue stress or deformation when installed and, for safety reasons, should be secured by a stopper in the overrunning direction. In addition, the freewheel should be secured in the axial direction to ensure reliable operation.
