Backstop with plain bearings and clamping rollers. The torque arm has a slot with a bolt to prevent reverse rotation.
The AV is a roller type freewheel with plain bearings that is suitable for low rotational speeds. Despite its small size, it is still capable of transmitting high torques.
This freewheel comes grease-lubricated and is sealed with labyrinth rings. It is supplied ready for installation – either horizontally or vertically.
The AV type is primarily used as a backstop and is particularly suitable for operation under demanding environmental conditions such as dust and coarse dirt.
A bolt is usually secured to a fixed part of the machine. This protrudes into the slot on the torque arm, thereby preventing the shaft from moving backwards. The clearance of the bolt should be 1 – 3% of the slot width. IMPORTANT: The torque arm and, consequently, the bearings must not be subjected to undue stress or deformation.
Due to its roller design, type AV can also be used as an indexing freewheel.
