Application examples
Types AL and ALP are roller type freewheels. These units are part of the Stieber modular system. They are bearing supported, using two 160.. series bearings, and require oil lubrication. These freewheels should preferably be installed inside a housing that already features lubrication and sealing.
The AL and ALP freewheels are usually installed with standard flanges. These flanges transmit the torque and are equipped with seals and oil screws. The flanges are used in pairs; possible combinations are shown on the following pages. The outer race of type AL is ground and can accommodate transmission elements bored to H7 tolerance. The torque is transmitted by means of screws. The ALP type has an additional keyway on the outer diameter for torque transmission. Two flat seals are supplied with each part for installation between the outer race and flanges.
These types provide a robust and reliable solution for applications where the shaft must be prevented from moving backwards.
