Type RDBK is based on the RSCI centrifugal lift-off freewheel but is also equipped with a frictional torque limiter.

Detailed information

Application examples

The maximum torque to be transmitted is set at the factory according to the customer’s requirements.

RDBK freewheels are primarily used as backstops in multidrive systems, such as conveyors. The torque limiting function allows for effective load balancing between individual drives and provides protection against torque spikes.

Type RDBK is equipped with a wet-running multidisc brake, the moving parts of which are all mounted on anti-friction bearings. This ensures precise torque limiting without compromising the high power density of the compact unit. At the same time, this design allows for efficient heat dissipation while maintaining a constant torque level throughout its entire service life.

In addition, type RDBK can be equipped with a hydraulic release device (-H), enabling controlled relief of the entire drive. Alternatively, a mechanical release device is also available for special applications.

The freewheel unit itself is not mounted on bearings, meaning that the drive shaft must be precisely positioned in relation to the freewheel housing. Radial and axial run-out must be within the specified tolerances to ensure reliable operation.
