Flexible and precise core clamping with pneumatic and mechanical expansion for optimal reel stability.
The Series 410 Multicore® ensures concentric clamping of multiple narrow cores, delivering high torque transmission and minimal bending for steady reel performance.
(With Continuous Expansion and Centering Ledges)
The Series 410 Multicore® mechanical expansion shaft is designed for the safe and flexible take-up of multiple narrow individual cores without being restricted to fixed subdivision patterns. Its design maximizes the moment of inertia to minimize bending, ensuring steady running and optimal reel build-up, even under heavy loads.
Key to its performance are the mechanically expanding centering ledges, which precisely center and round the cores on the shaft. These ledges remain securely fixed in position through a self-locking mechanism, maintaining high running accuracy and stability.
Pneumatic expansion ledges provide dependable torque transmission by expanding uniformly around the shaft circumference when compressed air is applied. The pneumatic piston actuates the internal cone driving rod, ensuring concentric clamping of cores ranging from 150 to 600 mm internal diameter. Flat bladders under the expansion ledges guarantee uniform torque transfer to even the narrowest cores.
After operation, expansion and centering ledges retract via internal springs or reverse piston pressure, allowing quick shaft removal.
