The series 605 expansion couplings from Vorwald are a remarkably lightweight and robust option with an expansion ring made from polyurethane. These expansion couplings are ideal for cardboard, aluminium, plastic and steel cores with an inner diameter of 150 to 152.4 mm. The stand-out features of the 605 series are the low weight and the impressive torque of 600 Nm per coupling.
You can order these expansion couplings with or without a core stop collar. The advantage of the core stop collar is that the core remains consistently positioned in the rewinding or unwinding station. In addition, several of these expansion couplings can be mounted on one carrier shaft and connected to each other by means of a spiral bladder that supplies the compressed air.
IMPORTANT: Please note that series 605 expansion couplings should only be filled with compressed air once the core has been pushed on. Otherwise there is a risk of damaging the expansion ring. These expansion couplings are particularly suitable for applications that involve frequent changes of the core inner diameter.
