Robust mechanical coupling solution with continuous aluminium leafs for fast and secure core holding across multiple diameters.
Versatile, concentric clamping with the Series 260 – ideal for low to medium-duty applications with cost-efficiency in mind.
Robust. Simple. Economical.
The Vorwald Series 260 mechanical expansion coupling is a durable and cost-effective solution for securely clamping cores made of cardboard, aluminium, plastic, or steel. Designed with continuous aluminium expansion leafs, this coupling offers excellent performance in applications where simplicity, reliability, and affordability are key.
Available in standard core diameters of 70, 76.2, 100, 120, 150, and 152.4 mm, the Series 260 is highly adaptable, allowing for quick changeovers between different core sizes.
Clamping Technology that Works – The Inclined Plane Principle
At the heart of the Series 260 is a time-tested mechanical design based on the inclined plane principle. By tightening a lock nut or hexagonal nut, a cone is driven under the aluminium leafs, causing them to expand outward and grip the core. This process allows the transmission of torque – adjustable depending on the applied tightening force.
Once the nut is released, spiral springs retract the leafs back to their original position, enabling quick and tool-friendly core replacement.
The Series 260 is especially suited for:
