ACE introduces its advanced LOCKED R series of pneumatic clamping elements—engineered to provide strong, immediate rotational holding directly on the shaft. Designed for demanding applications in mechanical engineering and customized machine tools, LOCKED R ensures secure locking with holding torques ranging from 42 Nm to 4,680 Nm.
What sets LOCKED R apart is its direct clamping method: When pneumatic pressure drops, the clamp automatically engages via a diaphragm and spring-plate mechanism. This design provides immediate safety and holding without the need for hydraulic systems. Despite the low cost and compact construction, LOCKED R competes with or surpasses traditional hydraulic clamping in performance and durability.
The clamping elements are compatible with shaft diameters from 50 mm to 340 mm and support up to 1,000,000 clamping cycles, ensuring long-term reliability. The quick-switch pneumatic valves enhance reaction times, while the ability to mount in any position offers installation flexibility across systems. Optional shaft flanges are recommended to reduce wear and extend product lifespan.
Constructed from hardened fine-grain structural steel with a precision-ground inner bore, LOCKED R clamping elements operate efficiently within a temperature range of 10 °C to 45 °C. The system uses dried, filtered air for consistent performance and minimal maintenance.
Application areas include drive shafts, torque motors, and conveyor systems. Additionally, special models for YRT bearings up to Ø 460 mm and active clamping elements are available on request, making LOCKED R a flexible solution for custom needs.
