Our RfN 7014 locking assembly stands out for its ability to reliably transmit significant circumferential forces. This is achieved through the use of long, shallow cones, which allow the transfer of high torques and axial forces. The multi-part design of the assembly ensures that the locking device, shaft, and hub remain in fixed relative positions during installation, without axial displacement. As a result, the shaft and hub are subjected only to compressive loads, providing additional safety compared to three-piece types.

This locking assembly is suitable for a wide range of applications, especially in heavy-duty environments where large belt pulleys, heavy machinery, couplings, and rope sheaves are used. In such cases, the RfN 7014 ensures reliable transmission of high forces and torques.

Product Features

  • High circumferential force transmission – the long, shallow cones enable the RfN 7014 to transmit extremely high torques and axial forces.
  • Maximum reliability – the shallow cones and relatively wide design (large guiding lengths) provide centering capability. During installation, the locking assembly, shaft, and hub maintain their positions. Shaft and hub are loaded only in compression, ensuring additional safety compared to three-piece designs.

Installation Notes

  • The values for T, Fax, pW, and pN apply to lightly oiled locking assemblies in the installed condition.

Surface Finish

  • For shaft and hub bore: Ra ≤ 3.2 μm

Recommended Tolerances

  • Shaft: k9–h9
  • Hub: N9–H9

Use of Multiple RfN 7014 Assemblies

  • A maximum of 2 locking assemblies may be mounted directly in series.
  • In this case, the transmission values from the table are doubled.

Tightening Torque Adjustment

  • It is possible to reduce the surface pressure and transmission values by lowering the tightening torque.
  • The minimum allowable limit is 80% of the TA values.
  • The values T, TA, Fax, pW, and pN are directly proportional.
