Ringfeder

RfN 7012.2 locking assembly for bending moments

Especially suitable for applications in confined spaces.

Ringfeder

Identical to RfN 7012, optimized for extreme loads.

Suitable for Applications in Confined Spaces
The RfN 7012 locking assembly is characterized by its ability to reliably transmit high forces and torques despite its slim design. This makes it particularly suitable for applications in confined spaces where space is limited.

Another advantage of the RfN 7012 is its ability to compensate for small tolerance deviations and minor assembly errors, simplifying both installation and operation. Additionally, this locking assembly features a self-releasing function, making disassembly quick and straightforward.

Overall, the RfN 7012 is an efficient solution for demanding applications requiring the reliable transmission of large forces and torques, without compromising on space or maintenance.

Product Features

  • Slimmest design, particularly suitable for confined installation spaces. Compensates for small tolerance fluctuations and minor assembly errors.
  • High transmissible forces and torques – multiple RfN 7012 assemblies can be installed in sequence. The transmissible torques and axial forces are additive – please consult our technical experts.
  • Bending moments and radial loads – combined loads can be transmitted.
  • Simple installation – capable of bridging large fitting tolerances.
  • Low contamination sensitivity – during tightening, the functional surfaces press tightly together, preventing the ingress of dirt or moisture.
  • Wear-free – operates without moving parts on shaft and hub, reliably preventing wear and backlash. Can be repeatedly engaged and disengaged.

Applications

  • Sprockets
  • Levers
  • Belt pulleys
  • Shaft-mounted gearboxes
  • Conveyor drums
  • Running wheels
  • Rope sheaves

Assembly Instructions

·        Delivered lightly oiled and ready for installation.

  • Values for T, Fax, pW, and pN apply in delivery condition.

Surface Finish

  • For shaft and hub bore: Ra = 3.2 μm

Recommended Tolerances

  • Shaft: k9–h9
  • Hub: N9–H9
  • Maximum allowable: Shaft: k11–h11; Hub: N11–H11

To avoid excessive deformation of the relatively thick-walled pressure rings, the locking assembly should be installed as symmetrically as possible between the shaft and hub bore. If the shaft is smaller than nominal size d, the bore should be larger than nominal size D by the same amount, and vice versa. Runout accuracy is determined by the direct centering between shaft and hub.

Arrangement of Multiple RfN 7012 Assemblies

If multiple units are used, the transmissible values from the table can be added if the assemblies are installed within a distance of 4·L.

Adjusting Bolt Tightening Torques

  • Equipped with grade 12.9 bolts.
  • Torque reduction is possible. The permissible lower limit is 0.5 × TA.
  • T, TA, Fax, pW, and pN are proportionally related.

Ejector Threads

  • Ejector threads are provided in the front pressure rings to facilitate disassembly.
