Lockable gas compression springs

Can be securely locked at any desired position over the entire stroke

Bansbach

The gas spring enables precise control for pushing, lifting and positioning tasks, up to absolutely rigid locking on both sides.

Lockable gas compression springs

Whenever powerful forces are exerted on moving structural parts, it becomes more important than ever to use gas springs that can be locked reliably. With our easylift gas spring system, you can securely lock the gas spring at any desired position over the entire stroke by actuating the release pin.

Depending on the forces that are at play in your application, we can dimension your lockable easylift gas springs for different load limits. The easylift gas spring, which can be locked absolutely rigidly on both sides, is a globally recognised innovation within this product segment.

Just like the other types of gas spring from the easylift range, our lockable easylift gas springs offer the following additional advantages: they are independent of any external power source, have compact dimensions and perform damped, controlled movements. The following pages contain information on the four basic gas spring designs as well as models offering different functions. Alternatively, you can reach out to us in person to find out more.

Our team will gladly help you to bring your projects to life and will assist you in selecting the right gas spring.

As you would expect, lockable easylift gas springs have the same fantastic features as all the other types of easylift gas spring, such as low frictional forces and high operational reliability. Whatever the required extension force and desired size, we can deliver your lockable easylift gas springs in no time.

Main Type B

In this basic type of lockable spring, the locking is achieved through gas and remains flexible in both directions. When the valve is closed, this type of spring can be positioned anywhere along the stroke, but the locking is elastic. Depending on the amount of force applied, a displacement may take place when the gas spring is locked. Although the gas spring is locked, there will be a comfortable damping.

Force:

40-2600 N

Stroke:

10-800 mm

Diameter cylinder/piston rod:

6/15 – 14/40

Push-out speed:

normal, fast, slow

Release travel:

Short release: Release travel < 1 mm

Connecting parts:

The piston rod is available with thread MF10x1x18, MF14x1,5×20 or with MF8x1x16. You can find the suitable cylinder connecting parts for your lockable gas springs

Main-Type K

If a force is applied on the locked gas spring, the locking remains rigid up to the mechanical strength of the gas spring. If a force is applied in compressed direction, the spring remains rigid until the force of the pressure on the floating piston is exceeded (locking force). If this occurs, the piston rod inserts a little bit which may look like a overload safetydevice.

Force:

40-2600 N

Locking force in push direction:

7.000 N – 10.000 N

Stroke:

Diameter cylinder/piston rod:

6/15 – 14/40

Push-out speed:

normal, fast, slow

Release travel:

Short release: release travel < 1 mm

Connecting parts:

The piston rod is available with thread MF10x1x18, MF14x1,5×20 or with MF8x1x16. You can find the suitable cylinder connecting parts for your lockable gas springs

Main-Type P

The function is similar to that of a Ktype but the oil and gas chamber is on the opposite side. This means that the spring is rigid up to the mechanical strength of the spring in compressed
direction. In extended direction, the lokking is rigid until the the force of the pressure on the floating piston is exceeded (locking force). If this occurs, the piston rod inserts a little bit which may look like a overload safety device.

Force:

40-2600 N

Locking force in push direction:

7.000 N – 10.000 N

Stroke:

30-300 mm

Diameter cylinder/piston rod:

8/22 – 14/40

Push-out speed:

normal, fast, slow

Connecting parts:

The piston rod is available with thread MF10x1x18, MF14x1,5×20 or with MF8x1x16. You can find the suitable cylinder connecting parts for your lockable gas springs

Main-Type KX

Here, the advantages of the K- and P-type of lockable gas springs are combined in one spring. The lokking force in both directions is rigid up to the mechanical strength of the spring. Therefore, KXmodels are also available without pressure but have rigid locking Characteristics.

Force:

0-2600 N

Locking force in push direction:

7.000 N – 12.000 N

Stroke:

20-250 mm

Diameter cylinder/piston rod:

10/22 – 14/40

Push-out speed:

normal, fast, slow

Connecting parts:

The piston rod is available with thread MF10x1x18 or with MF14x1,5×20. You can find the suitable cylinder connecting parts for your lockable gas springs
