Legionella (Legionella pneumophila) is a bacterium found in:

  • freshwater streams
  • wetlands
  • aquatic environments
  • cooling towers
  • decorative fountains

The bacterium is responsible for acute pulmonary infection caused by the inhalation of contaminated water aerosols. It develops under specific conditions, thriving in a temperature range between 20 and 60°C. Below 20°C, it struggles to reproduce, while above 60°C, it does not survive.

Although there are more than 50 species of Legionella, only a few are serious for humans, including Legionella pneumophila Serogroup 1, which accounts for more than 97% of reported cases in France.

We offer you a solution to prevent the risk of Legionnaires' disease, even if this bacterium is invisible!

Detection of Legionella bacteria BIBUS FRANCE

The Hydrosense PRO Legionella Detection Kit

The test kit is capable of detecting Legionella Pneumophila SG 1 to 15 at any stage of the bacterium's life cycle, including the viable but non-culturable (VBNC) stage, which laboratories are unable to do.

This test is ideal for:

The advantages of the test kit:

  • Results in just 25 minutes
  • Advanced lateral flow testing technology: Lateral flow is a rapid testing method where the liquid (in this case, a water sample) moves along the strip to reveal a result
  • Capable of detecting Legionella levels as low as 100 CFU
  • Easy to use (performed directly on site, without the need for a laboratory)
