DMC Motor Controllers (DC-AC Inverters) and DC-DC Converters
SUPERSIGMA2 & SIGMALITE Motor Controllers These motor controllers are the perfect match for electric motors. They convert the high-voltage DC power from the traction battery into a three-phase AC network to supply an electric machine. These are reversible DC-AC converters.
Available in two configurations — TRACTION or PUMP drive — the SUPERSIGMA2 controllers offer numerous advantages:
Full Auto-Tuning: The integrated auto-tuning program calculates all motor and encoder (or resolver) parameters within minutes, allowing for quick pairing of the motor with the DMC controller. There’s no need to send your motor to BIBUS France for tuning — a significant time-saver during equipment commissioning.
Compatible with three AC motor technologies – AC, PMS, IPM: The same inverter hardware can operate all three types of electric motors simply by loading the appropriate firmware.
Integrated Trajectory Control Software: DMC controllers enable quick deployment of various vehicle architectures: front/rear-wheel drive or steering, central articulation with 4WD, and more coming soon! Again, this simplifies machine control programming (VCU), as SUPERSIGMA2 and SIGMALITE integrate a wide range of traction control functions at the lower control level.
What are the key differences between the SUPERSIGMA2 and SIGMALITE ranges?
Voltage range: SUPERSIGMA2 supports 24 Vdc to 120 Vdc, while SIGMALITE is available in 24 Vdc and 48 Vdc (60–96 Vdc version coming in 2026)
Maximum current range: SUPERSIGMA2 delivers up to 800 Arms (for 2 minutes); SIGMALITE delivers up to 250 Arms (for 1 minute)
Casing size: SUPERSIGMA2 comes in four sizes (from 160 x 200 x 72 mm to 320 x 200 x 72 mm), while SIGMALITE has a single compact size (144 x 106 x 55 mm)
Price: SIGMALITE is DMC’s latest development, offering a highly competitive pricing advantage
Isolated DC-DC converters are used to convert high-voltage DC power into a lower voltage level to supply the onboard network, i.e., the vehicle's auxiliaries.
