There are two main types of flow control valves: uncompensated and compensated. Non-compensated valves have an adjustable orifice, where
the flow through the valve depends on the pressure differential and the size of the orifice.
These valves can also have an integrated non-return valve non-return valve. Pressure-compensated valves have an orifice that works together with a compensator. These valves can be supplied with two connections (restrictive type) or with three ports (priority type), offering the possibility of priority, regulated flow, with the excess flow being utilised for secondary functions.
Flow dividing and combination valves with two mechanically linked spools are also available, providing equalised flow and individual flow compensation.
compensation. Velocity safety valves are valves that close when a predetermined pressure drop across a nozzle is reached.
